Rosedale Technical College celebrated both the grand opening of the carpentry program and the groundbreaking of the phase 3 growth initiative following the school’s annual Spring Career Fair on March 22.

This event marked two significant milestones in the college’s continued evolution:

  1. The launch of Rosedale’s new Carpentry program and state-of-the-art lab, developed to provide students with hands-on training and essential skills for careers in the growing construction and building trades.
  2. The groundbreaking (or should we say wall breaking) of Phase 3 of Rosedale’s Growth Initiative, which includes the expansion of the #1 Cochran Technological Excellence Center—further advancing the college’s mission to deliver cutting-edge technical education aligned with industry needs.

These initiatives are integral to Rosedale’s Strategic Plan, which is built on Three Pillars of Progress: Collaboration, Elevation, and Personalization. Each element of the May 22 event reflected one of these pillars:

  • The career fair exemplifies Collaboration, connecting students with employers and industry professionals.
  • The campus expansion, which involves relocating classrooms above the labs to create additional space, showcases Elevation in academic infrastructure.
  • The Carpentry program demonstrates Personalization, as Rosedale continues to diversify its trade offerings to meet student interests and workforce demand.

Together, these developments reflect Rosedale’s over 75 years of ongoing commitment to preparing students for high-demand careers and strengthening the region’s talent pipeline.

“This is more than just a construction project. It’s a celebration of progress and a look ahead at how we’re building the future for our students and the regional workforce,” said Kara Chan, Director of Education and Marketing at Rosedale Technical College.
