Rosedale’s Spring Career Fair

As a part of Rosedale Technical College’s job placement services, we make sure that our current students and graduates have plenty of opportunities to connect with employers. We hold well-attended career fairs twice a year and arrange for interviews so that our student and area businesses have the benefit of knowing each other. We’ve also worked on expanding our reach by recruiting into many of the states that surround Pennsylvania.

At these career fairs, area employers have the opportunity to meet the students attending or who have graduated from our automotive, diesel, electrical, and HVAC technology programs as well as our industrial technician, welding, and truck driving programs. The students have the chance to meet with prospective employers and talk to them about how their trade skills and experience will help companies with their hiring goals.

Rosedale Career Fair Unites Employers and Students

We draw dozens of employers at each career fair. This spring, the fair was on Wednesday, March 18. Students met with 47 employers from the Automotive, HVAC, Electrical and Industrial Technician Fields from the Pittsburgh and western PA area and beyond. There were 27 companies available for interviews, and more than 80 student interviews were conducted.

At each career fair, Rosedale Tech asks employers to complete a survey so that we can hear their perspective and find out if our students’ trade skills are meeting their needs. During this year’s spring career fair, they reported, collectively, that they would consider more than 155 students they saw at the fair for employment within their companies.

Employer Feedback Strengthens Rosedale’s Program and Curriculum

We consider the feedback we get from employers who are hired skilled trade workers to be one of the most important parts of these career fairs. This year, they said,

“This has been a great experience – best job fair I’ve been to.”
“The fair was great . . . and the students were engaged.”
“I found the students well-prepared.”
“Great students – lots of potential!”
KDKA TV was present to cover the 2015 spring career fair and reported that both employers and students were pleased with the opportunities.
