What exactly is HVAC and why is it important?
Let’s talk about exactly what HVAC does. Most people know enough about it to know that it stands for Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning. But what does that mean?
o HVAC is the technology of indoor environmental comfort. Its goal is to provide thermal comfort and acceptable indoor air quality.
o Heat in the winter and air conditioning in the summer is important to just about everyone.
Why is HVAC such a popular and growing industry?
o The HVAC industry is a stable industry with endless opportunities. Because it is such a technology-driven industry, the opportunity for different career paths is always growing and changing. And as the population grows so does the demand for skilled HVAC Technicians.
o We think the reason so many students choose the HVAC program is because of the limitless career paths. It’s easy to get bored doing the same exact thing every day. With an HVAC degree, you can change your path whenever and as many times as you would like.
What is the day-to-day life like of an HVAC grad?
It’s hard to step into the life of an HVAC grad because there are so many different paths that they can take that it is hard to imagine exactly what our grads are up to. Lots of happy and successful grads have given us feedback on what they have been accomplishing since graduating from Rosedale Technical College. They include:
o Repairing and installing heating and AC systems in someone’s brand new home, commercial building, or industrial plant.
o Creating the ideal environment in that brand new home or office.
Why would I like about being an HVAC technician?
o You don’t have to be weighed down by the thought of doing that same tasks every day.
o Each day you will be challenged with new and exciting tasks. Being an HVAC technician is a job for someone who loves to work with their hands, making something, and seeing the end result.
o You will be a real life superhero when you swoop in to save the day by fixing a customer’s A/C or heating issues. Whether that is a neighbor, your mom, or a large commercial building with thousands of workers.
What kind of career can I have as an HVAC technician?
o Technician
O Installer
o Project manager
o Sales
o Service manager
o Residential, Commercial, or Industrial
O Or be your own boss
