Rosedale Technical College’s Collision Repair program has expanded and is being offered in the Daytime.  Recently, there has only been an evening collision repair program.  The first class start is scheduled to begin in May.

Collision repair technicians perform duties from inspecting damaged vehicles for structural damage to repairing damaged body parts and occasionally realigning frames and chassis to repair structural damage. According to the US Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), there will be over 15,000 automotive body and glass repairers needed in the next decade to meet industry demand (bls.gov). Most employers prefer to hire repair technicians who have completed a formal training program in automotive body repair or refinishing.

Like the evening program, the daytime program offers experienced instructors, hands-on training, and different types of subjects including; auto body & components repair, collision repair, mechanical & electrical systems, auto refinishing, panel repair & alignment, estimating, glass replacement and welding.

Students will receive extensive hands-on training that will allow them to work with the various phases of automotive collision repair.  Rosedale has recently acquired its own FAST Over Body Frame Anchoring System and Global Paint Spray Booth.  Additional equipment students will get to use includes a PPG color Matching Light System, Genesis Three Dimensional Measuring System, Chief Frame Straightener, Stick, MIG and TIG welders.

This program is 24 months long, and an Associate in Specialized Technology Degree is awarded upon graduation. Students will have the opportunity to receive preparation for ASE Certifications as well as ICAR Certifications.
