Daniel Agosh’s remarkable journey from automotive technology student to Monster Truck driver epitomizes the exciting possibilities that a technical education can unlock. Graduating from Rosedale Technical College’s automotive technology program in February 2014, Dan’s career trajectory has been anything but ordinary.
Dan’s adventure began unexpectedly while helping out at Pittsburgh Pennsylvania Motor Speedway, where a Monster Truck show was being held. This serendipitous event led to a connection with someone from Monster Jam, paving the way for Dan to join the Hall Brothers Racing team later that year. Over the past six years, Dan has advanced from a crew member maintaining the trucks to a celebrated driver of the iconic monster trucks Rammunition and previously, Raminator.
In addition to the thrill of driving, Dan’s technical prowess is put to good use as he continues to work on the maintenance and repair of the trucks. His multifaceted role also includes driving the tractor-trailer that transports the monster trucks from show to show and attending special events that feature these automotive giants. Reflecting on his career path, Dan marvels at the unexpected turn his automotive education took, leading him to a world of Monster Truck racing.
Dan’s journey to this exhilarating career wasn’t straightforward. Initially, he graduated from West Virginia University with a degree in Marketing and worked for a pest management company for about two years. A broken arm and subsequent layoff prompted Dan to reevaluate his career path. A lifelong fan of motorsports and automobiles, Dan decided to pursue a trade and returned to school to follow his passion.
He discovered Rosedale Tech through a conversation at an area auto shop, where employees recommended the school for its strong reputation. Being from Wellsburg, West Virginia, Dan found Rosedale Tech to be the perfect fit due to its proximity and robust automotive program.
Dan’s career with the Hall Brothers Monster Truck Racing team has allowed him to meet new people and travel across the globe to various arenas, stadiums, race tracks, and state fairs. He values the opportunities his career provides and encourages others to consider pursuing a trade for the potential to explore and travel.
Grateful for the foundation Rosedale Tech provided, Dan shared, “I am thankful for all that Rosedale has done for me! I love to be a representative and ambassador for the school. Hopefully, I help people decide to start a new career and opportunity.”
Dan’s story is a powerful reminder of the diverse opportunities that technical education can offer, and his success highlights the invaluable support and training provided by Rosedale Technical College.
Dan will be back in Pittsburgh this summer when he returns to where it all began for the Monsters N Megas Monster Truck Show being held June 22 and 23 at Pittsburgh Pennsylvania Motor Speedway. Tickets are on sale now at ppms.com
