Rosedale Technical College alumna Amanda Rivetti (Boyle) would not be where she is today if she hadn’t taken the leap of faith to explore what a career in the trades would mean to her.
After visiting the Kennedy Township campus for a tour, Amanda was introduced to the amazing, thorough curriculum and experiential learning Rosedale Tech offers its students. Amanda left the technical college’s tour that day knowing she would walk through those doors as a student in her future.
Once she was enrolled into Rosedale Tech’s Automotive Technology and Welding programs, her interest was piqued in an Engines class where she tried out welding for the first time. From that moment forward, Amanda knew a career in the trades was right for her and grew her passion further. Graduating from Rosedale Tech in July of 2018, Amanda felt confident in her abilities to find success in the trades workforce.
Fast forward nearly four years, Amanda is thriving in her role as a Welder and Operations Coordinator at Michael Brothers. Rosedale Tech was able to place Amanda in this role, knowing it matched her interests and passions, following her graduation. Rosedale Tech supports its prospective students, current students, and alumni along every step of their journey to a career in the trades.
Rosedale Tech is to thank for not only her professional journey, but also her personal journey. Amanda met her husband of six years while both were students at the technical college. Now, the duo lives in Coraopolis, PA with her 14-year-old son Amir, their 2-year-old daughter Bria, and two cats. When she’s not welding, Amanda can be found shooting target practice, spending quality time with her family, reading, cooking, and watching crime documentaries.
Amanda has some wisdom to share with aspiring trades professionals and future Rosedale Tech students. “Never settle or become stagnant,” she said. “Always learn as much as you can and be willing to do things you’re not familiar with in order to grow.”
