Self-Study Update

July 2026

Working Groups Beginning to Take Shape

Rosedale Technical College is entering an exciting new phase of our Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) Self-Study process. We are currently finalizing our Self-Study Design, which serves as the roadmap for our accreditation review over the next two years.

As the process moves forward, seven Working Groups—one for each MSCHE accreditation standard—will begin their work. Each group will be led by a Chair who will assemble a team of faculty and staff representing different areas of the College. These Working Groups will play a vital role in researching institutional practices, gathering evidence, evaluating how well we meet accreditation expectations, identifying opportunities for improvement, and preparing the narrative for their assigned standard.

The Seven MSCHE Standards

Standard I – Mission and Goals

Examines how the College’s mission guides planning, decision-making, academic programs, and institutional priorities, while ensuring goals are clearly defined and regularly assessed.

Standard II – Ethics and Integrity

Focuses on ethical practices, institutional integrity, transparency, compliance with laws and regulations, academic freedom, diversity, equity, and responsible governance.

Standard III – Design and Delivery of the Student Learning Experience

Evaluates the quality of academic programs, curriculum, faculty qualifications, learning resources, student support services, and the overall educational experience provided to students.

Standard IV – Support of the Student Experience

Reviews how the College recruits, admits, advises, supports, and retains students while promoting student success, engagement, well-being, and career readiness.

Standard V – Educational Effectiveness Assessment

Assesses how the College measures student learning and institutional effectiveness, uses assessment results for continuous improvement, and demonstrates achievement of learning outcomes.

Standard VI – Planning, Resources, and Institutional Improvement

Examines strategic planning, financial sustainability, budgeting, facilities, technology, human resources, and how data informs planning and continuous improvement efforts.

Standard VII – Governance, Leadership, and Administration

Reviews the effectiveness of the Board of Directors, institutional leadership, governance structure, decision-making processes, and administrative operations in advancing the College’s mission.

Looking Ahead

The Self-Study is a collaborative effort that provides an opportunity to reflect on our strengths, celebrate our accomplishments, and identify opportunities to enhance the student experience and institutional effectiveness. Over the coming months, Working Groups will begin collecting evidence, analyzing institutional data, and engaging colleagues across campus to ensure the Self-Study reflects the outstanding work happening throughout Rosedale Technical College.

June 2026

The MSCHE Self-Study process continues to move forward as Team Leads have successfully completed the Self-Study Institute. The Small Group is now focused on developing the Self-Design document, which is due September 14. In addition, work is underway on a Supplemental Institution Report addressing Standards I, VI, and VII, with a submission deadline of September 1.

As the process progresses, Team Leads will begin recruiting faculty and staff to participate in working groups. Additional information and opportunities to get involved will be shared in the coming weeks.
