About the Expansion
The expansion added approximately 3,000 square feet of instructional space through the construction of a second floor featuring new classrooms for Rosedale Tech’s Automotive and Collision Repair programs. The renovation also allowed existing learning spaces to be reconfigured, creating additional capacity for the college’s growing construction trades programs, such as carpentry, construction electricity, and industrial electricty.
Construction began in June 2025 following nearly 30% enrollment growth, with continued momentum as enrollment increased approximately 13% this year and is projected to grow another 15% next year.
The project was made possible through funding from Pennsylvania’s Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) and an investment from Rosedale Technical College.
A Partnership Built on Workforce Development
The #1 Cochran Technological Excellence Center represents the longstanding partnership between Rosedale Technical College and #1 Cochran, united by a shared mission to educate and develop the next generation of skilled technicians.
Beyond supporting the facility, #1 Cochran continues to invest in student success through philanthropic contributions that strengthen hands-on technical education and help prepare graduates for rewarding careers in today’s workforce.
Why It Matters
Demand for skilled trades professionals continues to rise across the region and throughout the country. The expanded #1 Cochran Technological Excellence Center enables Rosedale Technical College to educate more students, provide enhanced hands-on learning environments, and help meet the workforce needs of employers in automotive, collision repair, and other high-demand technical industries.
We invite community members, industry partners, alumni, and media to join us as we celebrate this exciting investment in the future of skilled trades education!
