Rosedale Technical College received national recognition when the private non-profit college was ranked on Forbes’ list of Top 25 Two-Year Trade Schools.

The 25 technical and career colleges on the list were selected based on a series of metrics including: post-graduate success, affordability, completion success, and student experience.  Forbes began their search from a list of over 700 currently-operating schools that were designated by the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education as two-year special focus institutions or as associate’s colleges that were “high career & technical.”

Five schools are on the list are from Pennsylvania and three from the Pittsburgh metro area.

Since 1949, Rosedale Technical College has been a nonprofit higher education institution training technicians for careers that have helped build our region’s economy and will be celebrating its 70th anniversary this coming year.

Rosedale Tech has been working to enhance the perception of career colleges as well as fill our nation’s skills gap through a strategic plan known as the Five Star Focus.  With recent societal pressures, more individuals have chosen to attend four-year colleges and universities while a smaller demographic chooses to attend two-year, skill-focused career colleges and institutions.  This disconnect in post-secondary education combined with baby boomers continuing to leave the workforce has created an increased demand for highly skilled technicians throughout industry.
